On October 3, Crosby, Stills & Nash will support two Los Angeles area schools with a special benefit pre-show reception and concert at Nokia Theatre L.A. Live.  The reception is set for 5:00 p.m. with the concert beginning at 7:00 p.m.  Only three hundred tickets will be sold publically to the benefit concert, with the pre-concert reception limited to two hundred people; twenty of those ticketholders will be invited to a special meet and greet with Crosby, Stills & Nash. These limited, preferred seating tickets are only available for purchase through the Guacamole Fund at www.guacfund.org, and go on sale this Friday, September 14th at 12 Noon PST.  The evening's reception is a fundraiser for CHAMPS-Charter High School of the Arts, Multimedia and Performing, and the Highland Hall Waldorf School.

"I have been very fortunate to have attended public schools, in which the arts were honored and respected. As a musician, I see this as an integral piece of a child's development and ability to thrive" says Stephen Stills.  "Sadly, the arts have lost much of their presence in today's world of education. I am representing two schools, Highland Hall Waldorf School and CHAMPS Charter High School, in their fundraising efforts. These two tremendous schools give as much priority to the arts as they do strong academic curricula. I am proud to have my children attend these fine learning institutions and feel privileged to contribute to their success."

CHAMPS Charter High School of the Arts, Multimedia and Performing(www.champscharter.org) is a tuition-free, independent charter high school in the San Fernando Valley offering smaller academic classes including honors and advanced placement.  With comprehensive academies for Dance, Music, Theatre, Film, Robotics (Vex World Champions in 2009), Radio, Digital Media, and Art, CHAMPS has a graduation rate for four-year students of nearly 98%.  To date, over 95% of graduates move on to attend higher education with the majority attending four-year colleges and arts schools throughout the United States and abroad.  The one hundred hours of community service required for graduation is just one indicator of our mission: "To create champions of academic excellence, social responsibility, self-expression, and life-long learning ...through the arts."

Highland Hall Waldorf School (www.highlandhall.org), located in Northridge, CA and founded in 1955, exemplifies the rich educational traditions of the Waldorf School movement.  Its unique approach to learning successfully addresses the changing needs and capacities of children at each stage of development from PreK through High School.   Fully 98% of its high school graduates move on to renowned colleges and universities; 42% of Waldorf graduates pursue college majors in mathematics or science.  Featuring a curriculum of academically challenging lessons infused with arts and hands-on learning, Highland Hall provides students with a solid academic foundation, the ability to think creatively, a sympathetic interest in the world, self-confidence, and an abiding moral purpose.

Crosby, Stills & Nash's Nokia Theatre benefit reception takes place during their summer U.S. tour.  The tour concludes in October with consecutive nights at New York City's Beacon Theatre.  CSN 2012, a 25-song set presenting the group's first live performance film in more than 20 years, was released earlier this summer.  Captured in high-definition during the early portion of CSN's 2012 world tour, the set is available worldwide from CSN Records in Blu-ray, DVD/2CD (3 discs), and Digital formats.

More than four decades since CSN played their first-ever concert as a trio at the legendary Woodstock festival, they continue a creative partnership that is one of the most influential and enduring in music.  David Crosby, Stephen Stills, and Graham Nash have each been inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame two times-once with Crosby, Stills & Nash, and a second time with The Byrds, Buffalo Springfield, and The Hollies, respectively.  They have also been inducted into the Songwriter's Hall of Fame, with the honor recognizing both CSN as a group, and each member as individual solo artists; and, they still continue to tour and record as "three together."
