Graham Nash is clearly comfortable around his listeners, given that he treats venues like private living room jams. Before a sold-out crowd at this noted Berkshires hall, the white-haired legend strolled onto a candle-strewn stage clad in denim, all the while noticeably barefoot, accompanied by his musical mate Shane Fontayne on guitars (acoustic and electric).

Having wrapped up a tour in May with Crosby, Stills & Nash, and with a fall tour of Europe already on the books, Graham Nash could have taken a break this summer. It would have seemed like a good time for some R & R.   Instead, Nash is starting a solo tour — accompanied by Shane Fontayne, guitarist in the Crosby, Stills & Nash touring band — that runs through Aug. 23   "I'm a musician," Nash says, explaining why he wanted to get back on the road. "I need to play. I need to communicate."

Daily Herald: Ron Onesti: When St. Charles became Nash-ville

Ya know, we have had many, many music superstars appear at The Arcada, many of whom, in their prime, sold out arenas and stadiums around the world.   People like Eric Burdon of the Animals, Burton Cummings of the Guess Who, Randy Bachman of BTO, Foreigner and many, many more. But when I personally met Graham Nash of Crosby, Stills & Nash, I actually curled up in a fetal position of humility to be in his presence. Now this is British, American and international music royalty … and he is on my stage!
